We train hard, pay big money, and its always the same story. NO A/C at the venue in Central America in the summer.
We have NAPF officials that the NAPF picks up the travel expenses, make 3 or 4 trips to "check out the venue" and its always the same story. I dont think we have been there yet when the A/C worked or they even had A/C.
Lets bring all the NAPF Championships to the USA till they get it right!!!
I wish you had used your name so I know who I am posting to but I think your approach to this could not miss the point more.
These meets are a lot of fun and a great excuse to go somewhere you may not go otherwise, get to lift, and hang around other lifters in a tremendously comraderie building atmosphere. Additionally it is awesome to see these coutries express enough interest in the sport to go through the trouble to host these events. I know when we were in Puerto Rico the mayor of the town was tremendously proud of what they did. Was it the best venue we have ever seen? Not even close but they pulled it together and we made it work.
What you have suggested would be profoundly discouraging and would frankly apply a standard to a lot of these coutries that would serve as an impediment to the growth of the sport in the region.
If your definition of 'getting it right' is having AC and your response would be telling them they have to travel to the US (which would likely be financially prohibitive for many) unless it is provided, you are way out in left field and are overlooking how cool it is that there is a large enough contingent in these countries that they would even consider hosting an event.
